Loppiano, a small village nestled in the Tuscan hills, is home to the first International ‘Cittadella’ of the Focolare Movement.

It was established in 1964 by Chiara Lubich, founder of the Movement; its citizens are almost a thousand and all of them commit themselves to live in the spirit of communion and solidarity. Every year lots of people come to visit Loppiano to experience, for a short period the life of a community founded on the principles of fraternity and dialogue.

The small companies operating within the Cittadella adhere to the Economy of Communion’s project, helping the needy and sharing profits equally, pursuing an ethical relationship with employees and customers.
